Classic Game Room HD reviews the MAD CATZ Xbox 360 arcade joystick. This jack-of-all-trades joystick controller is meant to appeal to those who want arcade style action and performance with modern next gen functionality. This review of the Mad Catz controller shows where Mad Catz went right, and where they went dreadfully wrong. It is a USB controller which is good for keeping costs down, but not a terribly arcade style retro controller by any means. If you are downloading arcade classic video games from XBLA Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360 like Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Xevious or Streets of Rage 2 is this the joystick controller that you should buy? Did MadCatz make the best controller for action gameplay or did MadCatz make merely an acceptable controller for you to spend money on? Watch this and other Xbox 360 and PS3 accessory reviews here on Classic Game Room! Even thought this is a review of a USB controller it won’t work with the PS3 or Wii game consoles, or PC. Strictly a USB controller for the Xbox 360 video game console.

Review Part 3 of 3: Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TIMESPLITTERS: FUTURE PERFECT for the Playstation 2 PS2 video game system. Time Splitters is an amazing series of first person shooters FPS designed by Free Radical. TS Future Perfect is the third in the series and possibly the best. You play as Cortez sent from the future to the past, then present, and future, back to the past, and future, and you get the idea. It’s an awesome game for shooting game fans who want a fun story and great action. Originally Timesplitters had an amazing online function but it was cancelled and discontinued a few months ago and is no longer hosted on the servers (which SUCKS). CGRHD is eagery awaiting a new Timesplitters on the Playstation 3 PS3 or Xbox 360. We demand Timesplitters 4!! MAKE IT FASTER. I think Free Radical is making that game HAZE and we’re getting that as soon as possible, but Timesplitters is what we want around here. I want to play as Robofish and shoot Ninja Monkey and Mr. Giggles and the Gingerbread Man. TSFP also came out on the Xbox.
This part of the review covers multiplayer mayhem, deathmatch, team, bag tag, bagtag (aka ninjaball), ault, shrink, virus and mapmaking. TS has a great map maker where you can create and design your own complex levels.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the controller for the XBOX 360 video game console. This wireless controller has numerous buttons and two triggers. Rumbles and plays games like Soul Calibur IV, Halo 3, Forza 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4. When you buy an Xbox 360 you get a controller with the game system. It uses batteries, but you can also buy add on accessories like a rechargable battery pack. I use rechargeable batteries in mine. Works well on humans, adults and children… but how does it work on dogs? We find out in this review with footage of the Classic Game Room Dog wearing the Xbox 360 headset and “playing” video games.

Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GALAGA on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game console. XBLA has brought out numerous old school retrol arcade classics like Frogger, Pac Man, Xevious and Galaga. These games play in HD through an HDMI cable if you have one, they cost a few bucks each and are usually playable on Xbox Live where you can earn achievements and gamer points (gamerpoints). Galaga is a throwback to the days when Space Invaders influenced dozens of arcade machines, the alien invaders shoot at you and move back and forth, they fly down and attack you. Galaga is just awesome. you need to play this game if you like the 1980’s and arcade machine classic games and gaming.

Classic Game Room HD reviews MS. PAC MAN for XBLA Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game console. This classic game is one of the best games ever made and a true arcade hit. Ms Pacman has been released on practically every video game system ever developed from the Atari 2600 all the way through the NES, Sega Genesis and PS2. How does this XBLA HD version of the game compare to the ARCADE original!?? Big questions come in small, yellow packages… with bows. Gobble up points and eat those power pellets to devour the evil ghosts. Ms. Pac Man’s gameplay was stunning back in the day and remains solid, addictive and entertaining decades later. Download it from Xbox Live Arcade for a few Microsoft credits, earn achievement points and enjoy yourself. Classic Game Room HD reviews SMASH TV for Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360. This SMASH TV review features HD gameplay from Smash TV, the iconic arcade hit from Williams featuring a demented Running Man style tv where you must survive by destroying waves of enemies, robots, tanks and goons! One of the creators of Smash TV is Eugene Jarvis, hero of CGRHD for his creation of Robotron 2084 and Defender. Using Robotron-style dual joystick controls you move with the left analog thumbstick on the 360 controller and fire with the right. Gameplay is frantic and out of control with more enemies than you can possibly destroy with your pea shooter gun. Weapon power ups, shields and extra lives are a must in this quarter munching arcade machine which was released in 1990. This XBLA version of Smash TV looks just like the arcade machine. Players can play a co-op game with a friend over Xbox Live Arcade and machine gun enemies together. You have unlimited continues when playing the XBLA Xbox 360 version of Smash TV. This is a must have, very affordable and really fun. Smash TV is TOTAL CARNAGE!!!!!!!!! Classic Game Room HD reviews XBLA video games as an XBLA reviewer reviewing games like Smash TV for Xbox Live Arcade. Although a sequel to Smash TV was talked about sadly it never came to be made.

The 1st Classic Video Game review show on the Internet since 1999, Classic Game Room HD busts out XEVIOUS for the Xbox 360 Live Arcade! This 1980’s arcade retro classic set THE standard for vertical scrolling space shooters, or SHMUPS as we call them today. In fact this is considered the grandfather to shmup video games. You are the lone starfighter fighting against impossible odds in this coin-op classic. Xevious debuted in the arcades in 1982 but has since appeared on the Atari 7800, NES and Playstation just to name a few. Similar to Raiden 3 or Radiant Silvergun, this vertical shooter throws wave after wave of enemy bad guys at you and you knock ‘em down in flames.

Part 1. Classic Game Room HD reviews the amazing BIOSHOCK. This version of the game is for the Xbox 360. This review should also cover the Playstation 3 PS3 release, so this video should excite everyone about Bioshock by reviewing the game, audio and amazing adventure contained within. PS3, PC or Xbox 360, Bioshock is awesome! Bioshock is a first person shooter style FPS game that sinks your character into an amazing underwater city called Rapture. Who are you, why are you there, what’s up with this messed up place and how do I get out?? All things you’ll learn in Bioshock. Classic Game Room reviews Bioshock with a close attention to detail because Bioshock has an amazing attention to detail. The music is stunning, the graphics thrust you into a crumbling 1930’s era art deco environment and the voice acting is top notch… not to mention the awesome story and incredible gameplay. You wield a variety of weapons like pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers and crossbows in Bioshock, but it is not a standard first person shooter like Halo 3 or Resistance Fall of Man. Bioshock vs those other games is not the same, Bioshock on Xbox or PS3 is an experience wrapped around a FPS (presumably, we haven’t played the PS3 version but imagine it to be similar to the 360). Do you want to learn how to defeat and beat Big Daddy’s, save the little sisters and bring down Andrew Ryan? This isn’t a walkthrough or playalong with Bioshock, this is a review, but shold give you an idea of the gameplay and how to play the game and why you should run out and immediately buy Bioshock. Released in 2007 and available for PS3 in 2008. This is one shooter you don’t want to miss. We certainly hope they will make a sequel to Bioshock. Visit the city of Rapture and while you’re there…. stay a while.

Classic Game Room HD reviews PEGGLE for XBLA and Xbox 360. This AWESOME game is Plinko meets Pinball meets Blade Runner (watch review to see why). Crush your enemies with Peggle mastery in this amazing old school style arcade game from the fun-masters at Pop Cap. Peggle should appeal to those gamers who love puzzle games and those fun arcade style games on the Atari 2600 and NES. This HD review of PEGGLE has gameplay footage from Peggle on XBLA and Xbox 360, available in the Pop Cap Arcade Volume 2 disc. One or two player action, challenge games and non-stop Peggle action make this an affordable must have for your 360. Peggle is so awesome it can also be played on iPhone and Nintendo DS. Ten different fun characters greet you through the variety of game boards in Peggle. Multiball, pinball flippers, explosive balls (yeah, you heard me) and the FIRE ball keep Peggle interesting and challenging. This is such an awesome game because it’s fun and reminds me of arcade games from the 1980’s mixed with a Japanese game show. Ode to Joy plays when you clear a level, rainbows flash all of the screen and Peggle has unicorns. FRIGGIN’ UNICORNS! Yes, Peggle. Buy it now. Wonder why you didn’t buy it 10 minutes ago. The Classic Game Room review of AEGIS WING for Xbox Live Arcade XBLA! Released in 2007, Aegis Wing is a horizontally scrolling SHMUP video game, a bullet-hell style shooter for XBLA. This game was developed by three Microsoft interns and is incredible fun to play and is a FREE download from Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. FREE!? That’s right, free! And it doesn’t even suck. Actually it is a lot of fun. This game may not be as challenging or complex as some other SHMUPS out there like Einhander, Darius Gaiden or Thunder Force 5, but it is still darned fun to play. You can also play with up to 4 people on Xbox Live (you and 3 friends) and can form a huge, giant space ship that shoots laser beams all over the screen to destroy alien invaders or whoever they are. So it’s like forming Voltron, but not really. Since they aren’t lions and there’s no hot princess in a pink jumpsuit. Mmmm… princess. Also there’s no irritating talking mice roaming the castle. Aegis Wing, check it out because there aren’t many things free in life, after you buy Xbox Live Gold of course. If you like sci fi space shooters and SHMUP video games, you should give this game a chance, it might surprise you. From Carbonated Games for Microsoft Xbox 360 Live Arcade. Plays in HD. Part 1 of 2. Watch in High Definition. Classic Game Room reviews GRID in HD. Available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3, Grid is a racing game from Codemasters. This Grid review features gameplay footage from Grid in high definition showing cars, tracks and the Lamborghini race car. Grid allows gamers to drive in variety of road races include Japanese Touge, drifting, open wheel racing (like F-1 Formula 1 driving), Pro Tuned, GT and demolition derby. Driving in Grid is smooth and fast and the courses are tight and difficult to master. Microsoft Xbox 360 achievement points can be earned in Grid and the list is long, as is the list of cars in Grid. Buy vehicles like Aston Martin, Nissan Skyline, pro tuned Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra and Ford Mustang. Grid is from the makers of Dirt, except instead of racing in off-road rally events you’re driving on tarmac, pavement and asphalt. Watch this Grid review for Xbox 360, Classic Game Room reviewed grid because we are a driving game reviewer and Xbox 360 reviewer reviewing games like Grid, Dirt, Gran Turismo 5 and Forza 3 (when it comes ). Grid is one of the best driving games out there and worthy of playing because of the high speed action, smooth gameplay and awesome pit driving view as well as the fancy flashback replay system. Classic Game Room HD reviews STAR TREK DAC for XBLA Xbox 360 Live Arcade. This Star Trek DAC video game review has gameplay from Star Trek DAC in HD from XBLA. Released to coincide with the new Universal Pictures movie, Star Trek, this game has surprisingly little to do with Star Trek. It is an excellent arcade style multiplayer shooter game like Asteroids meets deathmatch though. Take command of any of three Federation (or Romulan) vessels like the flagship, bomber and fighter then duke it out in DAC (deathmatch, ault and conquest). Play over XBLA Xbox Live Arcade or fight in a single player mode by yourself against computer AI. Star Trek D.A.C. is simple, straight forward, addictive and fun. It lacks the depth of the Star Trek universe but excels at that simple, clever game play that many other Star Trek video games lacked in years past. Star Trek DAC is a worthy purchase for fans of arcade style space ship shooters with a multiplayer, deathmatch, ault and conquest twist. Classic Game Room HD reviews Star Trek video games as a Trekkie reviewing games reviewer previously by Trekkers like Star Trek! KAHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of 1942 JOINT STRIKE for the Xbox 360 Live Arcade released on Wednesday July 23, 2008. Do you remember 1942 from 1984? The original Capcom WW2 era vertical scrolling shooter is back with 1942 Joint Strike on the XBLA. This review covers the gameplay, the graphics and sound and shows of the game’s use of 3D 3-dimentional backgrounds in a 2D shooting game. This is a SHMUP (shoot ‘em up) much like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun, some of the best SHMUPS ever made. Pilot your WWII era fighter plane against wave after wave of enemy bombers, mine layers and other fighter planes. Shoot them down with an arsenal of cool weapons like the spread shot and laser beam. Collect power ups, play with a friend and have a great time. It’s great to see companies like Capcom releasing games on the 360 and on the Sony Playstation Network for the PS3. I played 1943 on the NES Nintendo right before recording this review so I was down with the 194x if you know what I mean. A maniac shooter from a past that doesn’t exist. You can get Gamer Points too. Hooray. I think this is also on the Playstation Network and not sure if they’ll use it for Home or not. Not sure if it is on VC Virtual Console on Wii either.
