Classic Game Room HD reviews RED FACTION GUERRILLA from THQ and Volition. This is the 3rd Red Faction game but is it the best? The series returns after nearly a decade and takes place decades after the first game. No longer straight forward first person shooter, this new Red Faction allows the player to run around a huge environment on Mars and destroy practically everything in sight for salvage to help them free mars from the EDF. This CGRHD review of Red Faction Guerilla (not Red Faction Gorilla or Red Faction Gurilla) has gameplay from Red Faction on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (this is the Xbox 360 version, not PS3 version of Red Faction). It has a large storyline and many, many missions and guerilla actions to play out. Destroy things with a variety of cool weapons that can be upgraded along the way. Drive vehicles and wipe the Martian floor with EDF soldiers after smashing them with a huge sledgehammer. While CGR still prefers the original masterpiece, this new Red Faction is a lot of fun thanks to solid programming and GEO MOD 2.0. Yes, Geo Mod has stolen the show and is the engine of destructive mayhem within Red Faction Guerilla. Blast buildings, explode trucks and bring down structures with explody goodness and flying shards of metal. Red Faction delivers Geo Mod 2 and makes CGR want Geo Mod 3 soon! The 360 version has achievement points for Red Faction Guerilla and the PS3 version has Playstation trophies. Coming soon to PC, no word on the Vectrex version yet though.

Classic Game Room HD reviews INFERNAL: ‘S VENGEANCE for Xbox 360. This shooter suffers from many sins, not the least of which is the lack of an autosave feature. Clumsy controls and no zoom in precision aiming make for a very weak shooter in a sea of saturated shooting games available for Xbox 360. The concept is equally stupid and unless you really want to just push through the game to earn the Achievement points there are better places to spend your money (on Atari games for example). This CGRHD review of Infernal: ’s Vengeance has Infernal gameplay from Infernal showing the Infernal controls and Infernal cut scenes and Infernal sounds that don’t sync up with the video at times and the Infernal plot and Infernal boss battles. An endless purgatory of frustration awaits those who choose to journey into Infernal’s sub par world of attempted chaos. Watch CGR get stuck at one of the end boss battles in level 1. Awesome…. no, that’s actually sarcasm.

The teens run wild with hormones raging, fueled by magic and love potions…. how will it all end?? Harry Potter fans should enjoy this well made, technically solid romp through the Harry Potter world. Mix potions, duel with magic and take to the air as Seeker of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Discover the identity of the Half Blood prince in Harry Potter the video game for Xbox 360! Earn loads of achievement points and trophies (in the PS3 version) while playing Harry Potter. Collect crests hidden throughout the castle and mini-crests lurking within lights. Battle enemies, friends and mix potions illegal in 49 states. Harry Potter keeps it real for his 6th year… shouldn’t he be graduating soon? Far Cry 2 has received mixed reviews, CGR enjoys the epic scale of the game, variety of weapons, open world environment, jeeps, boats and mayhem. Gunplay is lacking a bit compared to some other big budget shooters but the size of the game makes FarCry 2 have high replay value with side missions and repeat gun battles with bad guys and arms dealers. Classic Game Room HD reviews TRANSFORMERS THE REVENGE OF THE FALLEN for Xbox 360, aka Transformers 2 review for Xbox 360. This is the same version that appears on PS3 / Playstation 3 also called Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. This CGRHD review of TRANSFORMERS 2 has gameplay footage from Xbox 360 in HD showing game play in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Published by Activision, there are numerous versions of this game available. This version, the 360 and PS3 version. Also the different Wii version, two different flavors (Autobot and Decepticon) available for Nintendo DS and a PSP variant of the game. Here on Xbox 360 the gameplay is fast and fun, you get to collect and play as numerous Transformers!!! Mighty robots, mighty machines…. or was that Go Bots…? More than meets the eye!! There we go, that’s Transformer lingo. Play two different campaigns, Autobot and Decepticon. The missions are broken into little chunks of explosions as you complete things in a race against the clock. Blow that up, shoot that thing, capture humans, etc… Play as Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Sideways or the lame-ass , goody-two shoes Autobots. Transformers 2 for Xbox 360 has XBLA support for multiplayer and leaderboards, it also has a free roam mode that you can unlock and roam around freely shooting tanker trucks. Fun, explosion packed and very well made, young and old fans of the series will find something to like in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Watch the Classic Game Room reviews of Transformers 2 for Wii and Nintendo DS as well. The Xblx 360 version has loads of achievement points to earn through the game.

This PS3 review of The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena has gameplay footage from the video game showing the first person shooter action as Riddick (played by Vin Diesel) is trapped on the Dark Athena and must slaughter everyone and everything in sight. He shines in the darkness, has Riccick-Vision ™ and can see enemies while lurking in shadows, enemies who can not see him. Then leap out and greet your foes with a hail of gunfire from a machine gun or slash them to bits with your Ulaks. The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena is a massive game where you can win and unlock trophies and achievement points, collect special feature unlockable content, pictures, artwork and video and have an awesome time. This science fiction first person shooter published by Atari has excellent gameplay and sound and does a great job making you feel like Riddick. At times the game is extremely challenging and mixes a stealth survival game with first person shooter mayhem. Even better than the films, The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena is a massive game worth the price. Also included on the disc is a remastered version of the 2004 game, The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay. Classic Game Room HD reviews ATARI ANTHOLOGY for Xbox, which also works on the Xbox 360 video game console. This amazing collection has dozens of Atari 2600 classic video games, as well as a number of arcade classics, all on one disc like Missile Command, Yars’ Revenge, Swordquest Waterworld and Space War! The games play out in fabulous 1080i HDTV graphics and look better than they did on the Atari 2600 (although in many cases that may not be a good thing, but this is emulation and these are emulated Atari 2600 games and they still rock!) Instead of using the standard Atari 2600 single button, single joystick controller you play all of these Atari and arcade hits using your Xbox or Xbox 360 controller. Atari Anthology is also available for the Playstation 2 PS2 video game system although CGRHD has not reviewed that version. We do however like the Atari Anthology disc for Xbox and played it with our 360 and give it two hearty beers up. Classic Game Room is your home for the best classic video game reviews anywhere in the known universe, or univereses that you don’t know, understand or could possibly fathom. A bunch of angels in some far of heaven meets disco wonderland universe coul make a video game review show with naked girls, beer drinking and talking frogs and it would still suck compared to Classic Game Room (we made that up, talking frogs would be awesome!)

Part 2 of 2 Watch in HD. Classic Game Room HD reviews DIRT for Xbox 360. This review shows DIRT gameplay and footage in high definition widescreen video. This is an excellent rally racing, off road racing, truck, big rig dirt driving video game. Dirt came out in 2006 and is available at a bargain price today, drive a variety of vehicles like the Subaru Rally Car, Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Car, Lancia Rally Car and off road dune buggy things in courses from the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy and other. Challenge your competitors one on one in rally events or race in crowded events with other drivers trying to crush you! Dirt is fun off road driving and reminds me of the 1000 miles to Baja race or whatever it’s called. From Codemasters, features the late, great Colin McRae in the game racing against you. Classic Game Room reviews driving games in high definition like Gran Turismo 5, Forza 2, Ferrari Challenge and DiRT. Reminds me of Colin McRae Rally for the Playstation. You can win DiRT achievement points and achievements the longer you play and win championships. Another cool mode of gameplay is the Hill Climb races.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the MAD CATZ Xbox 360 arcade joystick. This jack-of-all-trades joystick controller is meant to appeal to those who want arcade style action and performance with modern next gen functionality. This review of the Mad Catz controller shows where Mad Catz went right, and where they went dreadfully wrong. It is a USB controller which is good for keeping costs down, but not a terribly arcade style retro controller by any means. If you are downloading arcade classic video games from XBLA Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360 like Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Xevious or Streets of Rage 2 is this the joystick controller that you should buy? Did MadCatz make the best controller for action gameplay or did MadCatz make merely an acceptable controller for you to spend money on? You play as two winged strippers armed to the teeth and fly around a Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star world with guns blazing. There’s no boring talking to villagers about who did what and why… just shooting.

Part 1 of 2. (audio remixed to sound correct) Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of THE REVENGE OF SHINOBI for the Sega Genesis 16-bit video game system. The Sega Genesis game console (aka the Mega Drive Megadrive) is CHRHD’s favorite gaming system, and it’s no surprise that Revenge of Shinobi is one of our favorite games. This two parters looks at this amazing side scrolling action game and what sets it apart from the rest. What we need is more 2d two dimentional side scrollers on game systems like the Playstation 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 and Wii. Although some platformers and 2 D side scrollers have hit Xbox Live Arcade XBLA we want brand new ones that combine old school action with martial arts mayhem, great stories, fun gameplay and characters. Revenge of Shinobi has it all! Break out the Genesis and enjoy a couple games of Shinobi…. Disco Shinobi of course. They should remake this game for 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011, a remade Shinobi sequel for a new gamer system would be amazing.

Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED for the Xbox 360 video game console. The 360 comes alive with this amazing sleeper hit from 2007, TDU is awesome! pit driving mode, Lamborghini, Ferrari and an enormous island to explore at your whim at high speed! This driving game is incredible and very affordable today, I picked up my copy used and have played for hours and hours already. If you like Forza 2 or Gran Turismo 5 you’ll LOVE this game! Explore one of the islands of Hawaii and race in a variety of time trials, races, competitions and speed tests. Drive hitchhikers and hot models from one side of the island to the other. Weave in and out of traffic with reckless abandon and run from the Police. It’s kind of like Grand Theft Auto without the guns, in that you have a huge environment to explore and drive this awesome collection of cars and spend money on houses and stuff. Cars and motorcycles in the game include Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Ascari, Noble, Nissan, Ducati, Kawasaki, Jaguar, Ford, Chevy Corvette, Shelby, Saleen and RUF. You can download new cars on Xbox 360 Live and race against other people online. Definately worth getting. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The reviews on the HD series are reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360.
