Ashes Cricket 2009 is an upcoming Cricket sports game developed by Transmission Games and published by Codemasters in the UK and by Atari in Australia. It will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Microsoft Windows. The PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows versions were developed by Transmission Games. These versions will be released on Friday 7th August 2009 in the UK. The Wii version was developed by Gusto Games, but does not have a release date as yet.

Classic Game Room HD reviews RED FACTION GUERRILLA from THQ and Volition. This is the 3rd Red Faction game but is it the best? The series returns after nearly a decade and takes place decades after the first game. No longer straight forward first person shooter, this new Red Faction allows the player to run around a huge environment on Mars and destroy practically everything in sight for salvage to help them free mars from the EDF. This CGRHD review of Red Faction Guerilla (not Red Faction Gorilla or Red Faction Gurilla) has gameplay from Red Faction on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (this is the Xbox 360 version, not PS3 version of Red Faction). It has a large storyline and many, many missions and guerilla actions to play out. Destroy things with a variety of cool weapons that can be upgraded along the way. Drive vehicles and wipe the Martian floor with EDF soldiers after smashing them with a huge sledgehammer. While CGR still prefers the original masterpiece, this new Red Faction is a lot of fun thanks to solid programming and GEO MOD 2.0. Yes, Geo Mod has stolen the show and is the engine of destructive mayhem within Red Faction Guerilla. Blast buildings, explode trucks and bring down structures with explody goodness and flying shards of metal. Red Faction delivers Geo Mod 2 and makes CGR want Geo Mod 3 soon! The 360 version has achievement points for Red Faction Guerilla and the PS3 version has Playstation trophies. Coming soon to PC, no word on the Vectrex version yet though.
Classic Game Room HD reviews INFERNAL: ‘S VENGEANCE for Xbox 360. This shooter suffers from many sins, not the least of which is the lack of an autosave feature. Clumsy controls and no zoom in precision aiming make for a very weak shooter in a sea of saturated shooting games available for Xbox 360. The concept is equally stupid and unless you really want to just push through the game to earn the Achievement points there are better places to spend your money (on Atari games for example). This CGRHD review of Infernal: ’s Vengeance has Infernal gameplay from Infernal showing the Infernal controls and Infernal cut scenes and Infernal sounds that don’t sync up with the video at times and the Infernal plot and Infernal boss battles. An endless purgatory of frustration awaits those who choose to journey into Infernal’s sub par world of attempted chaos. Watch CGR get stuck at one of the end boss battles in level 1. Awesome…. no, that’s actually sarcasm.
Classic Game Room HD reviews HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE for Xbox 360. This game is also available on Playstation 3 PS3 and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince can be played on Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and Playstation 2 (but no Vectrex!??). Play as Harry Potter and a few other characters as Voldemort tightens his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds. Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven that it once was and Harry suspects that evil may exist within the castle. Dumbledore prepares Harry for the final battle which approaches, as Harry requests help from Professor Slughorn who holds memories in his head which could help. The teens run wild with hormones raging, fueled by magic and love potions…. how will it all end?? Harry Potter fans should enjoy this well made, technically solid romp through the Harry Potter world. Mix potions, duel with magic and take to the air as Seeker of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Discover the identity of the Half Blood prince in Harry Potter the video game for Xbox 360! Earn loads of achievement points and trophies (in the PS3 version) while playing Harry Potter. Collect crests hidden throughout the castle and mini-crests lurking within lights. Battle enemies, friends and mix potions illegal in 49 states. Harry Potter keeps it real for his 6th year… shouldn’t he be graduating soon? This review features the Xbox 360 version of FARCRY 2, review has gameplay footage from Far Cry 2 featuring action, video and HD game play from this first person shooter action game set in Africa. Use machine guns, flame throwers, rocket launchers and a variety of other military grade weaponry to raze the countryside to the ground in your search for an evil arms dealer. Work with factions, mercenaries and mysterious voices to annihilate pretty much everything that moves in the enormous environment surrounding the game. Far Cry 2 has received mixed reviews, CGR enjoys the epic scale of the game, variety of weapons, open world environment, jeeps, boats and mayhem. Gunplay is lacking a bit compared to some other big budget shooters but the size of the game makes FarCry 2 have high replay value with side missions and repeat gun battles with bad guys and arms dealers. Classic Game Room HD reviews TRANSFORMERS THE REVENGE OF THE FALLEN for Xbox 360, aka Transformers 2 review for Xbox 360. This is the same version that appears on PS3 / Playstation 3 also called Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. This CGRHD review of TRANSFORMERS 2 has gameplay footage from Xbox 360 in HD showing game play in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Published by Activision, there are numerous versions of this game available. This version, the 360 and PS3 version. Also the different Wii version, two different flavors (Autobot and Decepticon) available for Nintendo DS and a PSP variant of the game. Here on Xbox 360 the gameplay is fast and fun, you get to collect and play as numerous Transformers!!! Mighty robots, mighty machines…. or was that Go Bots…? More than meets the eye!! There we go, that’s Transformer lingo. Play two different campaigns, Autobot and Decepticon. The missions are broken into little chunks of explosions as you complete things in a race against the clock. Blow that up, shoot that thing, capture humans, etc… Play as Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Sideways or the lame-ass , goody-two shoes Autobots. Transformers 2 for Xbox 360 has XBLA support for multiplayer and leaderboards, it also has a free roam mode that you can unlock and roam around freely shooting tanker trucks. Fun, explosion packed and very well made, young and old fans of the series will find something to like in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This PS3 review of The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena has gameplay footage from the video game showing the first person shooter action as Riddick (played by Vin Diesel) is trapped on the Dark Athena and must slaughter everyone and everything in sight. He shines in the darkness, has Riccick-Vision ™ and can see enemies while lurking in shadows, enemies who can not see him. Then leap out and greet your foes with a hail of gunfire from a machine gun or slash them to bits with your Ulaks. The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena is a massive game where you can win and unlock trophies and achievement points, collect special feature unlockable content, pictures, artwork and video and have an awesome time. This science fiction first person shooter published by Atari has excellent gameplay and sound and does a great job making you feel like Riddick. At times the game is extremely challenging and mixes a stealth survival game with first person shooter mayhem. Even better than the films, The Chronicles of Riddick ault on Dark Athena is a massive game worth the price. Also included on the disc is a remastered version of the 2004 game, The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay. This is an excellent rally racing, off road racing, truck, big rig dirt driving video game. Dirt came out in 2006 and is available at a bargain price today, drive a variety of vehicles like the Subaru Rally Car, Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Car, Lancia Rally Car and off road dune buggy things in courses from the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy and other. Challenge your competitors one on one in rally events or race in crowded events with other drivers trying to crush you! Dirt is fun off road driving and reminds me of the 1000 miles to Baja race or whatever it’s called. From Codemasters, features the late, great Colin McRae in the game racing against you. Classic Game Room reviews driving games in high definition like Gran Turismo 5, Forza 2, Ferrari Challenge and DiRT. Reminds me of Colin McRae Rally for the Playstation. You can win DiRT achievement points and achievements the longer you play and win championships. Another cool mode of gameplay is the Hill Climb races.

This EA Tiger Woods 09 review has gameplay and footage from PGA Tour Pro Play 09 showing golfing action from the video game demonstrating why CGRHD likes this game but calls it “unbalanced”. You can play as the ex-Buick spokesperson or any number of other professional golfers in PGA Tour 09. If that bores you then create your own human being or likeness of yourself or Luke Skywalker to dominate the golfing rink. Round after round you drive balls with force into holes (heh heh…), use irons and pitching wedges and putters and crush the opposition without mercy. 18 holes of Ninja Golf? Not this time buddy, this time is 18 holes of EA Sports golfing action gameplay requiring the gamer to master numerous gold courses and winning strategies. Classic Game Room may usually review games with laser beams, space ships and ninja assins. Today we review GORF… GOLF! CGR already reviewed Gorf and that’s a good game. Even better than this one actually. Classic Game Room is the ultimate retro and new school reviewer reviewing modern and classic video games for new gamers and retro gaming aficionados today. For PGA Tour 2010 we request ninjas, laser beams and space ships. It’s a hole in one of footage! This review of PGA Tour 09 is for the Wii but this game is also available for Xbox 360.

This Fallout 3 review shows crystal clear gameplay and footage of this immense game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland. From the creators of Oblivion comes this massive RPG, strategy, action first person shooter style science fiction video game adventure. Fallout 3 is also available on the Xbox 360 video game console, CGR decided to try the PS3 version of Fallout 3 although we didn’t compare the two. Do you ever dream of hiding in a fallout shelter (101 to be exact) and emerging to a world filled with mayhem, violence, disorder, ghouls and radioactive waste and mutated monsters? If so, hooray! This is the game for you! Fallout 3 has been getting rave reviews from other gamers and for good reason, it is entertaining. A nice combination of engrossing gameplay mixed with some serios action and mayhem capped off with RPG style adventure. Don’t just dream about cooling off in a nuclear winter, live it! Part 1 of 2. Classic Game Room reviews CALL OF DUTY: WORLD AT WAR for the Xbox 360 video game console. This Call of Duty World at War review shows gameplay of this intense first person shooter. Footage of the game highlights the action and intensity of the gunfights and all out mayhem. This is actually Call of Duty 5 (or at least we think it is), and COD WAW (like WAWA!) is a WWII based FPS shooter game with excellent graphics, style and gameplay. The game has online multiplayer and co-op cooperative gameplay over Xbox Live. CGRHD loved the strategy required to play through parts of the game like the trenches in the Pacific campaign. World War 2 games have come a long way since 1999 when we reviewed the first Medal of Honor game on the Playstation, and this game launches you into Saving Private Ryan style action with several campaigns of war film inspired zany mayhem. Handheld style camera work, HDTV graphics and surround sound gunbattles round out the experience. We didn’t care for the menus much, or the jumping around of the plotline/dates, but whatever. We’re here to blow things up and use the flamethrower on anyone who gets in our path. Call of Duty: World at War is reviewed with the traditional Classic Game Room eye for detail and respect for games of the past, present and future. Call of Duty: World at War is also available on Playstation 3, if you compare the PS3 version vs. the Xbox 360 version we doubt you’ll see much difference. Tanks make a return and they also have flame throwers attached to them now. Have a BBQ good time with COD World at War. Classic Game Rom is ill and show all kinds of mayhem in this Call of Duty game play!

Classic Game Room HD reviews CALL OF DUTY World At War MAP PACK 2 which contains 4 new maps, three multiplayer and one new ZOMBIE level!! The levels included in this download are Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens and Shi No Numa. The zombie level is my favorite as you can escape the confinement of the shack you’re stuck in and explore the swamp. New Xbox 360 Achievement points are available with Map Pack 2 if you can defeat enough zombies. The new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty WAW in Map Pack 2 are well designed and fun.
