Classic Game Room season 1 – 8/29/2000

Nobody should let these two near plastic guns. The Game Room blows away anime bad guys and srange creatures in these “straight outta Japan” style shooter.

You play as two winged strippers armed to the teeth and fly around a Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star world with guns blazing. There’s no boring talking to villagers about who did what and why… just shooting.

Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation… too bad they didn’t get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii.

Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of EINHANDER for the Sony Playstation 1 (which means one hander in German). Is this the best game on the PS1? For that matter, is Einhander the best side scrolling shooter SHMUP ever made? As far as shmups go, Einhander is a maniac shooting game set in a 2d horizontal scrolling distopian future with the feel of Blade Runner. It uses 3d elements and pushed the PSX to its limits with incredible graphics, gameplay, sound and replay value. Einhander is a side scroller like Gradius III IV or V, Thunder Force or Life Force. But this game is different because it uses gunpods and the mechanized arm that controls them. It’s amazing and regarded by some as the best shooter ever made. It also has a light saber, homing missiles and a foxy announcer who teached you things in the training seminar. This game should be remade in 2008, 2009 or 2010 as a Playstation 3 PS3 game or something for Xbox Live Arcade.

Classic Game Room season 1 – 5/20/2000

MDK2 for the Sega Dreamcast. What does MDK stand for? Well, watch the episode and find out.

This first person shooter kind of game for the Dreamcast had a unique comic book style like the Watchmen mixed with anime references and science fiction. It was a lot of fun to play and looking back on it was an awesome game. For whatever reason this has not come out on the PS3, Wii or Xbox 360.

Classic Game Room was the 1st Classic Video Game review on the Internet for fans, collectors and game nuts. They reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation… too bad they didn’t get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii.

Part 2 of 2 in HIGH DEFINITION. Classic Game Room reviews DEAD SPACE for the Xbox 360 video game console. This Dead Space review shows gameplay and footage from this amazing game in HD High Definition game play video. Wow! It’s like they made this game for Classic Game Room! It may not have huge Atari sized pixels or ninjas, but what it does have is awesome science fiction ambience, sound design and story telling! You play as Isaac and crawl through a space ship infested with horrible aliens or mutated people, all of whom are trying to decapitate you and rip your limbs from your torso. Gameplay is solid, fast and intense. The video game reminds CGR of Alien, Event Horizon and the video games Bioshock, Resistance and Fallout 3. All good things. Dead Space is somewhat of a horror style 3rd person shooter (should have a FPS first person shooter option) set in space and featuring an awesome Sci-fi movie inspired plot. Hours of boring cutscenes are abandoned in favor of in-game storytelling through some really nice stylized screens and audio logs. There are lots of weapons including cutters and flamethrowers, each gun has 2 different modes of fire. Dead Space is sure to please those looking for a top-notch A-list shooter on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 PS3 or PC. We use the 360 version of the game for this review but we’d imaging, from what we’ve seen, that the PS3 Dead Space gameplay and footage is very similar if not identical. The game is awesome.

Watch in High Definition! Classic Game Room HD reviews WARTECH for the Xbox 360 video game console. This game actually has a subtitle called WarTech “Senko No Ronde” but whatever, all you need to know is that it has Sega heritage, features giant robots with guns and is a fast paced, value priced arcade action game. This CGR WarTech review features gameplay footage from the game in high definition so that you can clearly see every “rounder” or giant fighting robot, the nice menu and graphical style and anime feel to the game. The action is smooth, quick and exciting once you figure out the complicated controls. You have guns, missiles, overdrive, B.O.S.S. super-powered fighting thingy doodles and about 8 characters to choose from. It isn’t an anime game per se but the cut scenes, which are recorded in Japanese dialog, have subtitles and Japanese manga style. If a 2 player vs. fighting game with a twist is what you’re looking for check out WarTech. If you want a fast pick up and play, difficult to master video game with a challenge pick up WarTech. If you’ve been wanting a new game but don’t want to spend much, pick up WarTech. For the price this game packs some short thrills just like an arcade game. Classic Game Room HD is a new member of the Classic Game Room family. A more relaxed, subdued show about classic (and new) video games from the past 30 years.

Not to be confused with the classic Silpheed on Sega CD, this is a review of Project Sylpheed: Arc of Deception. Do you like flying space ships and blowing things up? Well, so do I! It’s much better than the Demo on Xbox Live.

This game which originated in Japan is a space shooting game like Omega Boost mixed with Robotech. It has a great anime and science fiction style that drops you into the middle of interstellar violent mayhem!

Only on the Xbox 360 game system, which is like an Atari but without the fine wood trim.
